How hard is it to Play Pro Basketball Overseas?
A common misconception about playing overseas basketball is that everyone can do it. But it’s extremely hard to land a contract overseas!
There are thousands of players across NCAA D1, D2, D3, JUCO, and NAIA seminaries with a limited number of professional contracts being offered to apprentices each time. Utmost overseas brigades only have many open spots for American players each season, making it indeed harder to land a contract.
Players coming out of further estimable Division 1 seminaries are always more marketable, making it easier to land a contract as a novitiate. But I’ve seen and helped multiple players who played D2, D3, JUCO, and NAIA land contracts overseas but they’re generally in lower-position, lower-paying leagues to start.

What are the conditions for Play Pro Basketball Overseas?
You need to have council experience (film and stats) and a track record to show these overseas teams. Playing D1 will always be more marketable than D2, D3, JUCO, and NAIA. Players frequently ask me if they can skip council and play overseas. The answer is simply NO – you need to play council basketball to indeed have a chance at pursuing a professional career.

Make sure you stay down from “fluff” on your capsule. What’s fluff? Adding redundant information on your capsule that’s not demanded to make it look longer. Brigades don’t want to hear your whole life story and they don’t want to read paragraphs on why you’re better than any other player they will be assessing.

When putting together a highlight tape recording, make sure it’s not just 5 twinkles of you ducking the ball. That’s not what basketball is about.
Also, you need to take into consideration that overseas basketball is way different than American basketball. Brigades emphasized defense, rebounding, hustling, and most importantly being a platoon player and getting your teammates involved. Overseas basketball is each about being unnaturally sound and playing as a platoon.
Highlight videotapes should be 2- 3 twinkles maximum. Anything past that trainers simply won’t watch and may not indeed look at your film if they see its 10 twinkles long.

How do you find an agent?
The most important part about landing a contract overseas is working with someone who has access to job openings in these leagues overseas.
Chancing a FIBA agent is a critical element in landing a job because FIBA agents have the connections demanded to land your first contract. However, FIBA agents will come running to you, If you’re a name D1 player who doesn’t have a chance of playing in the NBA. However, you’ll have to network on your own and reach out to FIBA agents to see if they’ve any interest in representing you If you’re not. A great way to find pukka FIBA agents is to search their database. From there you can try and get in touch with an agent through social media platforms similar to LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
A big problem I see in the overseas basketball community is players rushing to subscribe with FIBA agents without doing an exploration of the agent or understanding the signing process.
There are great agents out there with a ton of connections but there are also bad agents with little to no connections. Some agents work for the player’s stylish interest while others work for their stylish interests and care solely about making plutocrats.
Subscribe Players
All too frequently players subscribe with an agent, and the agent can’t find the player a job because they’ve no connections, leaving the player with a gap on their capsule and nearly ending their overseas career before it indeed starts.
Agents can take advantage of players who are uninstructed or tricked about overseas basketball so it’s important to ask questions and do your exploration. (That’s why you’re reading this!)
We’ve also seen players have 10-time careers overseas without ever having an agent. How does one do this? Network, network, and network some further. It isn’t easy working for yourself to formulate overseas connections, but it isn’t unsolvable.
Once you make a name for yourself, overseas brigades will find you. Do we suggest this route? No. But it isn’t insolvable to Play Pro Basketball Overseas representing yourself. By representing yourself, you keep that 10 you would typically give up by being represented by an agent.
How can I find openings to play basketball overseas?

How do you try out for Play Pro Basketball Overseas platoon?
It’s rare for brigades to host overseas experiments. They estimate you on your film, capsule, and your council experience. I’ve seen some players pay their way overseas and work out for a platoon to earn a contract, but it’s veritably uncommon.
Occasionally a platoon will fly out a player and have them share in training camp or an essay format to watch them contend for a contract, but that’s also not the norm.

Take care of yourself Living overseas can be stressful, so it’s essential to take care of yourself physically and mentally. Make sure you get enough rest, eat a healthy diet, and stay doused. Exercise tone- care conditioning like contemplation or yoga to reduce stress and anxiety.
What are the living conditions like for basketball players overseas?
Living conditions for players overseas can vary extensively depending on the position, position of competition, and the platoon’s budget.
In some cases, players may live in comfortable apartments or houses with different amenities. still, in other cases, players may have to partake in confined living diggings or live in unacceptable casing. You must do your exploration on where you’ll be staying because that will be your new home for the coming 8- 10 months.
What are the fiscal considerations when playing basketball overseas – similar to payment & living charges?
Hires vary extensively depending on the position, position of competition, and the platoon’s budget.
